Your email address is used, when necessary for our services, such as when you need to reset your password or to send purchased vehicle history checks to you. Email is also used to remind you when your vehicle’s MOT and road tax are near to expiry. Your telephone number may be used to make contact regarding a previous vehicle check or to make you aware that you are a winner in one of our infrequent competitions. Your post code may be used to detail vehicle crime in the area you live, as well as to suggest local garages you may want to use.

If you prefer not to receive emails regarding a vehicle’s upcoming MOT and road tax expiry, please take the vehicle off your account.

It’s On The Meter does not collect, manipulate, or process your credit or debit card details, nor are any details routed through any other information services. Instead, this information is submitted directly to the payment provider. Further information can be found below.

Your debit or credit card details are transmitted to and processed by BraintreePayments.com or PayPal.co.uk. Both are well established payment processors and have received the most advanced level of certification by MasterCard and Visa.

Third Parties

Any information we collect is only shared with a third party if it is legally required to be disclosed, either at the request of a governmental agency performing an investigation, to protect against the unauthorised or misuse of the It’s On The Meter website, or to enforce or verify compliance with website policies and applicable laws.

Experian Ltd. Is used to obtain outstanding finance data, which is necessary to determine if a vehicle has any outstanding finance obligations. If there is some dispute over outstanding finance information, It’s On The Meter may occasionally provide your personal details to Experian Ltd. This will only be done if they need to investigate any or outstanding finance queries or resolve them.

It’s On The Meter does maintain relationships with carefully selected companies and with your consent, we may pass your personal details to these companies. This is usually done to offer users services and goods. On occasion, It’s On The Meter may use customer information for unexpected uses that have not been previously discussed in the privacy policy.
